  1. I chose the famous Mike Tyson interview after he tore apart Lou Savarese in seconds. Many people enjoy watching and hearing this interview because it gets you pumped up. Basically it consists of Mike Tyson rambling about how he is the best ever and no one can reach his level. The interviewer looks pretty frightened during the interview because of Mike Tyson’s intense words. He talks about eating Lennox Lewis’s children and ripping his heart out. The interviewer asks him if it was his shortest fight ever and he refuses to answer continuously talking about how good he is. Mike Tyson then goes on to talk about the Lennox Lewis fight and how bad he wants to beat his ass. I like this interview because Mike Tyson is so intense and in a way inspiring. He may take it a little far with the whole eating his children comment but that is just how he is. Some may think that the interview is funny because of what Mike Tyson says but in Mike’s eyes it is very serious. He mentions that during his preparation for the fight his best friend died. He had to bury him so he lost a lot of preparation time. This part of the interview is serious but at times it is more laid back and sometimes intense. There are several famous quotes that come from this interview which is another reason I chose this. Mike Tyson is the craziest boxer ever and I would never step in the ring with him.

  3. I chose the interview with some reporter and Don Cherry, a long time hockey coach and revered Canadian commentator, when he talks about the Canadian Russian brawl in 1987. Its hilarious because this wimpy looking reporter is saying how unacceptable it is to fight and how it was the Canadian coaches fault for not controling his players. Everyone expects Don Cherry to agree with him or say something along similar lines so when he starts going on and on about how terrible the Russians are and how proud he was of "his" Canadian boys it was hilarious. He is just this over powering guy who cuts off and belittles this wimpy reporter...not to mention his wicked awesome Canadian accent. I love that accent and it makes it ten times better. He tops it off with the typical horrendous Canadian plaid suite. The only way he could possible look funnier was if he was younger and had the Canadian mullet. Business in the front, party in the back.

Ok, this was a really really tough choice, because there are so many interviews I love. This one that I chose though, is by far one of the funniest that I have ever seen. It is a spoof of a real interview and its from SNL, so its pretty much guaranteed to be funny. Anyway I chose this one, not only because I find it hilarious, but also because I thought it would spark some sort of discussion about peoples different opinions on the clip. The interview I chose is an SNL spoof of the Sarah Palin, Katie Couric interview back in the 2008 election. It is was poking fun mainly at how Couric was getting frustrated because Palin wasnt giving her straight answers. When SNL put Tina Fey on to mock Governor Palin, their rating sky rocketed. She was a controversial figure and this interview made the very 'unexperienced' Palin even more talked about. SNL was not endorsing either party more than the other, they were just giving a comedic take on the much talked about election. I personally didnt care for Sarah Palin, like I had no real problem with John McCain (even though I'm extremely liberal and probably would have voted for the Green Party candidate), but Palin I thought was an unexperienced idiot, who didnt know what she was going to be doing. I was gonna leave the country if she was vice president, because if she would have by some strange reason become President I think everyone would have gotten pissed. She would have made women's rights retrograde to like the 1300's and give no rights to minorities and made the nation super conservative while like granting the NRA free roam over pretty much everything. Anyway, I thought this interview was really hilarious and Tina Fey and Amy Pohler were perfect for the roles.

At first it was hard for me to think what interview I would write about but that I remebered watching a funny, yet educational video in the third grade. The interview that I really liked was one that I could remember from years ago. It took place at a park. I tried to look for it on youtube but I couldnt remember the name. Its an interview about how children were gaining more weight every generation. The reporter interviewed a mother who had three overweight children. She was very sarcastic in the way that she asked questions which made the mother become defensive and loud. I liked this interview because the reporter was able to make the mother lose her cool composure that she started with. Its amazing how just a couple of things can make people obviously uncomfortable but the reporter did a good job with that tactic. If I were a reporter I would want to have the upper hand in knowing how I am able to change peoples moods so that I can host an interesting, unorthodox interview.

My favorite interview would have to be the one that I did a few weeks ago. I was in the FSU Bookstore in the Union buying a new textbook, when a man in a suit came up to me and asked if I minded answering a few questions for him. He said he was a reporter for Bay News 9 in Tampa. I told him I would answer the questions and he started asking things about textbooks and a new law that might be passed soon. The law would require teachers to post what books were needed for their class, but 30 days before the first day. I answered by saying that I was all for this new law. It would be really helpful to shop around for books before you get to class and know that you are getting the ones that you actually need for the class. I really enjoyed this interview, for one, because I was in it. I never had been interviewed for something that would show on TV and the Internet, and I thought that was really cool. I also enjoyed the interview because I did it right before my class, which I ended up getting to miss. Although the actual questions were serious, I thought the overall experience was fun. It was fun to just answer some questions for some random guy, all while they were videotaping you with this huge camera. It also helped that the reporter was a pretty nice guy, and didn’t creep me out that much.

    Matt-
I would have to agree that this was one of the greatest sports interviews that I have ever seen too. It definitely gets you pumped up anytime that you watch it. If someone can dedicate a punch to a person that has passed away, or say that you’re going to eat someone’s children, you are definitely a complete bad ass. Although Mike could come across as cocky and arrogant, I would have to agree that he was more inspiring than anything else. Anyone that loses a friend while preparing for a fight and then goes out and wins is pretty much awesome.

  8. My favorite interview that I have seen would have to be Brock Lesoner’s interview after he won his last fight that took place a few weeks ago. The interview took place directly after he knocked his opponent out in a way of knock out. He was so pumped up and full of energy he actually said a few things that he regretted. I think the heat of the moment was what made this interview so great. Everyone including the viewers watching the fight was amped up from the fight so anything said during the post fight interview sounded great. The interview took place in the ring where they fought; I think the location of the interview also added a great affect to the interview. This interview also had comedy in it as well. Brock said he was going to go home and drink cooers light because bud light did not pay him enough. Bud light is the company that sponsors the league in which this fight was held. After the interview he sat down again and stated he was sorry for that comment, it was just something that popped out in the heat of the moment. Any interview that is taken place right after a violent fight is very exciting. One reason why I enjoyed this interview so much was because it was not planned out. No one knew the outcome of the fight so there was no way the interview could have been staged. I believe this is why I enjoyed the interview so much.

  9. Brandon, I enjoyed that interview as well at UFC 100. I don’t like Brock Lesnar at all and I was hoping Frank Mir would win but Lesnars interview was pretty damn funny. I think it was cool how he just got done knocking this guy out to talking about drinking a beer and getting on top of his wife later. I would never fight that man in a million years because I’m sure it would be the end of my life. I agree that the whole bud light comment was not necessary and he should watch what he says on national television next time.

  10. Matt,
I have seen this interview too and really enjoyed it. I believe any interview that has some one as intense as Mike Tyson has to be good. Any interview with this much energy is really fun to watch. I think all fighters have to show a great amount of aggression when talking to the public so there opponents will fear them before they fight. The seriousness in the interview is what makes it fun and exciting to watch. I think you would enjoy watching my favorite interview of Brock Lessner that took place a few weeks ago. Both of the interviews consist of intense people talking in the heat of the movement. I think Brock and Mike are two very similar people and I think an interview with both of them would be great. This is why I liked you interview you picked and think you would enjoy watching the interview that I picked out.

I didn’t have a favorite interview to start off but I knew I wanted it to be a funny one. I thought of my favorite person Michael Cera and he’s funny so it was perfect. I watched a few and then I found my favorite interview online. It is an interview with Kat Dennings and Michael cera for Nick and Norah’s Infinite playlist which is a movie they star in that I really like. They talk about the movie and how the two got to know each other a lot. They talk about other people too. I like it because it’s funny and it seems really personal. I also have a crush on Michael Cera so of course I’m going to like it. In the movie there is a scene where the main characters dance so in the interview they discuss some of the different dance moves and it’s really funny. Michael Cera and Kat Denning start dancing in the interview. The interviewer brings up a scene and Michael Cera apparently named a dance move, but he doesn’t remember it because he improved it which I thought was interesting. I didn’t know how many improve moments were in movies. I watched a few other interviews and in all of them they talked about improving which I had no idea about. I personally think Michael Cera is really funny so I really enjoyed all of the comments made because I’m definitely a person that enjoys humor.

    Matt,
I’ve never been a sports person but I actually have seen this interview. It’s incredibly interesting seeing the energy you are definitely right about that. The eating of someone’s children is pretty creepy to think about and if I had been the interviewer I would have been a little nervous too. I think it’s good to have confidence and believe in yourself but he might take it a bit too far. I think it’s really sad he lost his friend yet awesome he continued on and pulled through and had an amazing fight. I definitely agree, I would never step in the ring with him!

One of the most interesting interviews I have ever seen is with Osama Bin Laden and a news reporter. I saw it a couple of years ago on TV probably around the time that the whole 9-11 incident occurred, even though the interview took place a few years before 9-11. I don’t really remember who conducted the interview but it was mind blowing to me that someone would actually have the guts to sit in front of one of the worlds most dangerous and most sought after man. The interview from what I remember, took place in the middle of the mountains where Osama Bin Laden is accused of hiding out. The whole time I was amazed at how the interviewer kept his cool while being surrounded by people with guns. I don’t know how he was able to stay calm and respect Bin Laden’s wishes to remain as covert as possible by not disclosing his location to anyone. The interview mostly covered the reasons Bin Laden hated the Western Civilizations, especially America, and his reasons for carrying out terrorist attacks on them and other things that I probably don’t remember. The questions were submitted beforehand so that Bin Laden could prepare answers and not be put on the spot. The interviewer didn’t let himself appear to be disturbed or afraid of what he was doing; he talked to Bin Laden as if he was less of a threat than he was which in my opinion takes a lot of skill.

I’ve never been really big on interviews so when I had to talk about one of my favorites on this blog, I had no idea what I was going to pick…but then I remembered this show I had seen a few months back called Free Radio. It’s this show on VH1 of a radio cast that does a morning show called Moron in the Morning and the crew interviews different (actually in real life) famous people. The show is a complete joke and is something like Napolean Dynamite that is so stupid and meaningless that in certain people, like myself, makes you laugh. This interview that I picked is one of the first shows Free Radio did. The main host, Lance, and his co-host interview one of the guys from the TV series, Heroes. Throughout the entire interview Lance is extremely rude to the guest and is actually even obnoxious. Somehow this interview turns out to be about Lance having his own billboard. Lance takes callers because he gets bored of the interview being about the Heroes star and not him. The callers obviously want to here from the famous star and not from Lance. Lance gets annoyed with this so he offers money to any of the first callers who say that they have seen his billboard. Bad news, Lance doesn’t have any money to give away. He gets himself in a knot and has to pick his way out. This entire show is pretty stupid and pointless but some of you might find it to be funny….or a complete waste of time! But either way, here is the link: http://www.vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=1581022

    Dennis,
I totally agree with you that this is one of the funniest interviews ever. I remember my government teacher showing it to the class during the election season. The whole class was dying of laughter because of how witty and well put together the skit was. The questions for the interview were perfect and the responses by Tina Fey were really funny. The way the two—Amy Pohler and Tina Fey—played off of each other were great, and it closely resembled the real interview between Sarah Palin and Katie Couric. The whole skit was done just for laughs but it’s funny how it wasn’t that far from the truth.

Dennis, you are so right about this being funny. I thought it was hilarious too. I had heard all about this interview on SNL but for some reason I had never gotten around to actually watching it. I think Tina Fey does an impeccable impression of Sarah Palin in this. She actually even looks just like her! It’s so funny because she takes all of Sarah Palin’s weak points and exploits them. She shows how big of an idiot Palin is. To think that she could’ve had the potential of being the president of the United States. Oh boyyy. Anyway, good choice with your interview pick. This is one of my favorites now. It had me laughing because of the truth that I could find within it. Bad press for Palin though because this interview really could’ve swayed people against her and lost votes. I guess that’s a good thing. Thanks for sharing the clip!

The first interview that popped into my head after reading this topic would be The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion. I honestly have no idea why but all the drama during the interviews made this reunion hard to forget. The real housewives have always been a favorite show of mine. There are five women on the show and drama is constantly surrounding them. After the show the five of them gathered up and had a reunion show. Everything that was left unsaid throughout the show was said and uncomfortable air filled the room. The interviewer wasn’t afraid to ask the questions he knew the audience wanted to know. Things were revealed throughout the interview that we, the audience, have been dying to find out. Gretchen is accused of being a gold digger. Lynne is put down for letting her teenage daughter drink. Throughout the reunion, they verbally attack one another, the women call each other out for things no one ever thought happened, and secrets were revealed. I think its pretty comical to see five grown woman fight the way they do. The drama and conflicts that arise between them is something me a my friends would never fight about. I guess it is just interesting to me to see how money and status plays a big part in relationships between one another. Throughout the interview and the show they’re constantly competing with each other, who has the most money, who can put someone down the hardest, or who is the hottest housewife. It’s always a drama fest and that’s what makes the show so exciting. It was an interesting conclusion to the already dramatic show and it left me wanting more.

    Dennis,
This interview of SNL imitating the interview between Couric and Palin is hilarious. I’ve never seen or heard about this imitation or skit done on Saturday Night Live but it really is funny. They really do a great job mocking the two women. Sarah Palin really sounds like herself, the accent is seriously right on and she looks just like her. Couric’s double does a great job of making Palin look like a complete idiot and it’s extremely comical. This fake interview did a great job of showing how inexperienced Palin actually was. Although it couldn’t sway my vote or have an influence on who I would end up voting for it opened my eyes to her lack of intelligence and experience. Although I am a republican I didn’t necessarily like either of the candidates but I do know if a fan of Sarah Palin saw this they wouldn’t be to happy. All in all a really funny interview and I enjoyed watching it a lot. :)

    Sarah,

I also love the show Real Housewives of (insert city). I loved that reunion too. I think Lynn was so nice and everyone picked on her. But like the backlash she received for allowing her idiot daughter to drink, well there are a whole lot of parents who do that. They just go: we'd rather you call us than drink and drive. They know kids are going to do it, but they want to try and help their children be as safe as possible. It's a matter of caring and responsibility. But I definitely did not like Tamra or Vikki. They seriously needed to stop attacking Gretchen. When they got her wasted and tried to hook her up with Tamra's son, that was really wrong. I also LOVED the New York reunion, because I love Bethenney and Jill and i thought that its so funny that Kelly is delusional. She seriously is in her own little world and I really enjoyed that link, because the reunions are some of the best parts of the show!

My favorite interview is new and only happened a few weeks ago. It is from a post fight interview from Brock Lesnar after he beat Frank Mir. It is funny and very cocky in response. At the time live, it got a room full of people to explode due to the magnitude of the moment. Brock really took full advantage of the moment by talking crap about the man he just beat up. He spoke his mind and made himself the star in the spot light.
It got me pumped when he said he pulled that horse shoe out of Frank Mir’s rear and beat him over the head with it. My adrenaline was moving and I was pumped up to do anything. I believe that my buddies and I talked about this almost for a whole week. The speech may not rank with Lou Gehrig’s Luckiest Man speech or John F. Kennedy’s speech to the nation, but this one is great with its humor and its amusement. Brock talking about Coors light over Bud light is hilarious and he deserves credit for going against a huge corporation.
UFC is meant for entertainment. Brock Lesnar did exactly what he was paid to do, beat up Frank Mir and entertain the millions who paid pay per view to watch the fight. People get caught up in the feuds between two fighters and with this interview it will cause a lot of tension when these two fight again. This made it my favorite interview as of right now.

  22. My favorite interview so far has been an interview of Katy Perry I read in the August issue of cosmopolitan magazine. She is one of my favorite artists because not only is she an amazing singer but she also writes her own lyrics something many singers don’t do anymore. This interview is very relaxed and easy. Katy is not shy and she acts as if the person interviewing her is one of her close friends. She talks about her music career and how it developed. She speaks of her love of music and her crazy escapades; the wild outfits and her on stage antics. She is not afraid to show her real self like many celebrities. She is not shy about her personal life and with that, she reveals the trouble she has had with her past relationships. She talks about her hopes and dreams. How she does not want to be known for just one song and intends to leave a legacy behind. As much as she wants to get married and start a life with someone right away she also knows that no matter how much she plans this, it wont happen because this is such and important time in her life that she needs to focus more on her music. In her interview, she is so relaxed and even curses! She is not afraid to show her true self to the world and that is why this is my favorite interview.

I could imagine that that interview you saw must of impacted you. If I would of seen it I probably would of chosen it myself. Seeing a man that has killed thousands of America speak is astonishing on its own. The way you explain how the person doing the interview keeping his cool is amazing too. How did he relax? It must have been a hard job pretending that Osama’s presence did not affect him in anyway. It is unfortunate that the questions were previously submitted because he had time to come up with a good answer maybe even a lie. This is unfortunate for the audience not knowing what could have been said.

    Brandon,
I agree with your points. We both have the same interview of Brock Lesnar as our favorite interview. I like how you bring up that Bud light is the actual sponsor of the fight. It was not thought of or premeditated. Brock just spit out what was on his mind and it was done. Even though he apologized to Bud light, he still is the man for being as spontaneous and open on the microphone in front of a million people audience. It is near impossible he could have staged that interview because so many things were going thru his mind after facing a violent fight and coming on top to retain his championship belt.

I'm going to have to agree with you about the whole Brock Lesner interview. I watched the fight and watched him it live and almost threw up in a mixture of pity and laughter at this giant idiot. Sure Brock is the man right now and had a great knock out against one of the best heavy weights of all time, but i have no clue where he was going with that whole thing...I mean any idiot who says he's going home to drink a coors light and lay on top of his wife and hope she has sex with him is a complete and utter fool. But it was awesome to see a grown ass ripped vicious fighter make an absolute ass out of himself.

  27. My favorite interview would have to be one that involved my school. This past year there was a big uproar about my yearbook. Apparently there was a picture that showed a girl’s private parts. She was wearing a short dress and she admitted to not wearing underwear because she did not want to have panty lines. The photo does not show anything and all you see is shadow. Tampabay 10 news interviewed her and her mother. Her mother wanted the school to recollect all the yearbooks and redistribute them without the picture. The yearbooks had already been passed out to over half the student body. Her mother went to CNN about the whole thing and was trying to get on Oprah. The whole thing was ridiculous. What I thought was funny was that in the interview with tampabay 10 our principal called and told her mother that she should not go around talking to news cast and that her daughter should come back to school and let the whole thing blow over. The mother said, "He [the principal] said he doesn't want to exploit my daughter and here he is passing out yearbooks with her picture still in it and continuing to pass out pictures! It's like don't you get it?" I don’t think she gets it. After a week of school the whole thing was over but we were talking about what she was going to do next. I think this interview is just really funny and stupid. Her mother negotiated that her daughter didn’t have to take her exams and that she didn’t have to go to school. There was two weeks left of school!!! The whole thing was funny though.

I have never seen that show but it sounds good. I always love drama shows. They make me feel better about my life. It sounds funny when you talk about each of them accusing each other of different things. I wish I watched it. I mean they are grown women they should know how to act. It’s amazing what people will do more money. Its great entertainment though. I think that it is sad that we still watch it though. I don’t think that we can help it. It sounds like the interview was really funny. I would expect teenagers to fight but not grown women.

  29. My favorite interview is that one where David Letterman interviews Jim Carrey! Jim Carrey has got to be the funniest man alive. I love absolutely all of his movies. They all are funny and usually have a very good moral. I don’t ever really listen to interviews or watch them; therefore, when given this assignment, I just went on line and looked for funny interviews. Sure enough, Jim Carrey’s came up! Unfortunately, this interview that I watched is cut into segments and doesn’t show the entire interview but it still hits some good points. The interview starts with Jim Carrey making faces and talking about how he loves New York. One of the things that it talks about is how does Jim shop. He states that he used to get a fake moustache, thick glasses, and a baseball cap so that no one would know that it was him. This didn’t work because when he went to the counter to pay for his stuff and he notices that it is Jim. Everyone soon started saying “nice moustache Jim.” Now he finally goes out in public as him. The interview then ends with him stating what he would do for new years. And he goes on and starts partying his butt off as if it were already new years… it is absolutely hilarious!!

I agree with you with what you say about what Mike Tyson is saying in this interview! It is not much different from what he says in many other interviews. He is a very confident and cocky fighter and always states that he is the best of the best! There is no one that can beat him! Im not much into boxing but I like this video cuz he beat that guy in very little time! I also like this video because it reminds me that mike Tyson is the one that bit someone’s ear off! How crazy is that!!
